Epic Write LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that every writer deserves equal access to creative tools, regardless of ability. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to our platform.
EpicWrite aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG 2.1 is developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Conformance with these guidelines also helps make web content more usable to all users in general.
EpicWrite takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
EpicWrite is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
EpicWrite is tested with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on both desktop and mobile platforms.
Despite our best efforts, some areas of EpicWrite may have limitations. Below is a description of known accessibility issues. We are actively working to resolve these:
Advanced formatting operations (drop caps, comic panels, two-column scripts) have limited screen reader support. Basic text editing, headings, lists, and links are fully accessible.
Workaround: Use keyboard shortcuts for common formatting. The formatting toolbar buttons include ARIA labels.
Some exported PDF files may not include complete document structure tags for assistive technology navigation.
Workaround: Request an accessible version by contacting support. We are working on adding full PDF/UA compliance.
AI assistant (Brinley) chat messages may not be immediately announced by all screen readers during rapid message exchanges.
Workaround: Messages are available in the chat history and can be reviewed at any time.
AI-generated images may not always have sufficiently descriptive alt text.
Workaround: Users can edit image alt text after generation to provide custom descriptions.
